Salta – A journey of flavors
between Asia and Central America

Salta is a refined yet relaxed restaurant that defies boundaries, combining Asian and Central American cuisine into a vibrant, multicultural experience. Founded by four friends with international backgrounds, it reflects the cultural diversity of its creators.

The name “Salta” is inspired by “Saltapatrás”, a historical term linked to the crossing between Asian settlers and natives of Central America. This fusion of cultures is present in every detail of the restaurant.

Tomaz Salema Reis

Our chef and partner, trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, has extensive experience in the area. He worked at the renowned Asian restaurant Mr. Wong, led by Dan Hong, in Australia. After living in Sydney for nine years, he returned to Portugal in 2019 to join the team at Vila Joya, in the Algarve – the first restaurant in the country to win a Michelin star, and which currently holds two. This was followed by experience as executive sous-chef at Boa-Bao, in Lisbon.

Four years ago, Tomaz took over the leadership of Salta, where he has complete creative freedom to develop all of the restaurant’s dishes.
